Frans Verstraten is the McCaughey Chair of Psychology at the University of Sydney. He served as Head of School (2013–2022), was a board member of the Vision Sciences Society (2010–2015), and its President (2013–2014). His current research investigates perception when observers are moving, using virtual reality and movement simulators to link psychophysics with neurophysiological performance indicators.

Guang Yang (Spike) is a second-year PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, working at the intersection of cognitive science, perception, and computational methods. His research investigates how humans perceive motion under dynamic conditions, with a particular focus on vision and multisensory integration during passive movement. By combining behavioral experiments with advanced statistical and computational modeling, he aims to uncover how sensory signals are weighted, integrated, and transformed into perceptual decisions.
